Argentina Retail Sales Growth Slows Sharply

Argentina’s retail sales rose 3.6% year-on-year in March 2026 to ARS 552.97 billion, slowing sharply from an 18% jump in February.
At current prices, the strongest gains were recorded in perfumery and pharmacies (21.6%), furniture, home décor and household textiles (16.5%), sportswear and sporting goods (15.2%), food courts, food and kiosks (10.7%), and books and stationery (10.1%).
In contrast, sales of electronics, home appliances and computers fell 7.8%, while toys declined 6%.
In the City of Buenos Aires, total sales at current prices reached ARS 171.13 billion, up 13.3%, while sales in the 24 districts of Greater Buenos Aires fell 5.2% to ARS 172.43 billion.
At constant prices, retail sales declined 13.3%.
