Swiss investor sentiment index slumped by 44.8 percentage points to -35 in March 2026 from 9.8 in the previous month, according to data from UBS and CFA Society Switzerland.

It marked the lowest reading since September 2025, indicating growing caution among financial analysts, who now expect higher interest rates in both the Eurozone and the United States over the next six months.

They also turned significantly less optimistic about equity market prospects.

Inflation expectations rose across all regions, driven in part by escalating tensions in the Middle East and the associated surge in oil prices, adding to concerns about the global economic outlook.

Meanwhile, the current conditions index rebounded to 2.5 from -2.5 in February.
