Swiss Factory Growth Eases in September

Switzerland’s procure.ch–UBS Manufacturing PMI fell to 55.3 in September 2026, slightly below market expectations of 56 and down from a three-month high of 57.1 in the previous month.
Despite the decline, the reading marked the seventh consecutive month of expansion, although growth slowed across several key components.
Activity weakened across production (down 3.9 points to 55.9), order books (down 0.4 points to 57), purchasing volume (down 3 points to 58), and employment (down 2 points to 48.4).
Sales stocks also declined (down 3.1 points to 46.2), while delivery times dropped (down 3.1 points to 63.9).
Meanwhile, stocks of purchased goods increased (up 1.5 points to 49.7).
On the price front, input cost pressures increased, with purchasing prices rising 0.7 points to 70.
