Slovenia Unemployment Rate Steady at 4.6%

Slovenia’s unemployment rate stood at 4.6% in November 2025, unchanged from the previous month.

This remained the highest level since March, as the number of unemployed persons rose by 126 month-over-month to 45,796.

The unemployment rate for women was 5.0%, compared with 4.3% for men.

By age group, unemployment stood at 7.5% for those aged 15–29, 4.6% for those 50 and older, and 5.7% for those 55 and above.

For comparison, the jobless rate was 4.6% in November of the previous year.

Meanwhile, employers reported 10,641 job vacancies, 9.0% fewer than a year ago, and 142,314 openings over the first eleven months of 2025, lower by 3.6% from the same period last year.

Slovenia’s unemployment rate rose to 4.8% in December 2025 from 4.6% in the previous two months, marking the highest level since February. The number of unemployed persons increased by 1,381 month-on-month to 47,177. Unemployed men totaled 24,574, while women accounted for 22,603. By age group, unemployment stood at 7.7% for those aged 15–29, 4.8% for those aged 50 and older, and 5.8% for those aged 55 and above. For comparison, the jobless rate was 4.8% in December of the previous year. Meanwhile, employers reported 9,489 job vacancies, down 3.3% year-on-year, and 157,803 vacancies for the full year, up slightly from 157,384 in the same period last year.

Slovenia Unemployment Rate at 7-Month High
Slovenia’s unemployment rate edged up to 4.6% in October 2025 from 4.5% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since March, as the number of unemployed persons climbed by 1,726 from a month earlier to 45,670. In total, 7,232 new unemployed registered in October, up 23.8% from September, including 2,789 first-time job seekers. On average, 45,195 people were unemployed per month from January to October, down 1.5% from the same period last year. Meanwhile, employers reported 11,998 job vacancies, 7.3% fewer than a year ago, and 131,673 openings in the first ten months, 3.1% lower than last year.
