Slovenia Retail Sales Rise 2.4% YoY in December

Retail sales in Slovenia rose by 2.4% year-on-year in December 2025, following a 1.0% increase in the previous month.

Sales rebounded for food, beverages, and tobacco (1.8% vs -2.6% in November) and strengthened further for non-food products (3.0% vs 2.2%).

In contrast, activity growth in sales of motor fuels in specialized stores slowed sharply (0.5% vs 6.5%).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail sales were unchanged in December, after a decrease of -0.4% in November.

Slovenia Retail Sales Growth Eases in November
Retail sales in Slovenia rose 1.0% year-on-year in November 2025, following an upwardly revised four-month high of 2.4% in the previous month. Sales in non-food products eased to 2.2% from 4.1% in October. At the same time, sales for food, beverages, and tobacco declined further (-2.6% vs -0.5%). On the other hand, retail activity increased for automotive fuel in specialized stores (6.4% vs 4.6%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail sales dropped 0.4% in November, reversing from an upwardly revised 1.0% gain in the preceding period, which had marked the highest reading in six months.

Slovenia Retail Sales Hit 4-Month High
Retail sales in Slovenia climbed by 2.2% year-on-year in October 2025, following an upwardly revised 1.7% rise in the previous month. This marked the largest retail activity since June, as non-food products increased (4.3% vs 0.1% in September). On the other hand, activity growth slowed for automotive fuel in specialized stores (4.7% vs 7.7%), while sales declined for food, beverages, and tobacco (-1.1% vs 0.7%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail sales grew by 0.9% in October from an upwardly revised 0.1% gain in the preceding period.
