Slovenia posted a trade surplus of EUR 201.5 million in April 2026, shifting from a deficit of EUR 392.8 million in the same month a year earlier, as exports rose while imports declined.
Exports increased 2.6% year-on-year to EUR 5,981.4 million, driven by higher shipments to both EU (3.8%) and non-EU countries (1.6%).
Meanwhile, imports fell 7.1% to EUR 5,779.8 million, mainly due to a sharp decline in imports from non-EU countries (-19.9%), while imports from EU countries rose (9.4%).
In the first four months of the year, the country’s trade balance swung to a deficit of EUR 2,749.4 million from a surplus of EUR 2,799.0 million a year ago, as exports plunged 20.1%, while imports edged up 0.1%.
