Slovakia Retail Sales Ease in October

Retail sales in Slovakia rose by 0.6% year-on-year in October 2025, easing from a 1.4% gain in the previous month.
Sales decreased for ICT equipment (3.9% vs 12.5% in September), while purchases fell for goods sold in non-specialized stores (-0.1% vs 0.7%), other household equipment (-6.7% vs -0.1%), and trade outside stores, stalls, or markets (-7.3% vs -1.5%).
In contrast, sales increased for automotive fuel (0.8% vs 0.7%), other goods in specialized stores (11.3% vs 8.1%).
At the same time, purchases recovered for cultural and recreational goods (0.6% vs -5.8%) and declined less for food, beverages, and tobacco (-9.8% vs -10.7%) and sales via stalls and markets (-15.7% vs -21.7%).
On a monthly basis, retail trade dropped by 0.7% in October, reversing from a 1.6% rise in the preceding period.
