Slovakia Current Account Shifts to Surplus

Slovakia recorded a current account surplus of EUR 106 million in September 2025, shifting from a EUR 567.3 million deficit in the same month a year earlier.
This marked the country’s first current account surplus since August 2023, as the goods account swung to a EUR 388.7 million surplus from a EUR 126.8 million deficit in September 2024, while the services surplus nearly doubled to EUR 148.9 million from EUR 82.7 million.
In addition, the primary income deficit narrowed to EUR 361.8 million from EUR 444.1 million, and the secondary income shortfall also decreased to EUR 69.7 million from EUR 79.1 million.
