Slovakia Construction Output Growth Accelerates

Slovakia’s construction output jumped 11.7% year-on-year in December 2025, following a 2.4% growth in the previous month.

Production recovered sharply in domestic construction (10.4% vs -1.0% in November), particularly in new construction (10.2% vs -2.3%), repairs and maintenance work (10.1% vs 8.5%), and buildings (5.7% vs -3.5%).

In addition, output surged in engineering construction (21.4% vs 0.6%).

Meanwhile, production slowed in construction abroad (23.5% vs 30.5%).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output increased 4% in December.

Slovakia Construction Output Growth Slows to 7-Month Low
Slovakia’s construction output rose 2.4% year-on-year in November 2025, slowing from 3.7% in the previous month. This marked the softest growth in construction activity since a decline in April, mainly driven by a sharp drop in domestic production (-1.0% vs 2.5% in October), particularly in new construction (-2.3% vs 2.6%) and buildings (-3.5% vs 6.2%). However, within domestic output, repairs and maintenance work increased (8.5% vs 5.8%) and engineering construction rebounded (0.6% vs -4.5%). Meanwhile, construction abroad surged 30.5% from 13.6% in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output increased 3.5% in November.

Slovakia Construction Output Growth Slows Sharply
Slovakia’s construction output rose 3.7% year-on-year in October 2025, slowing sharply from an over seven-year high of 19% in the previous month. This marked the softest growth since May, driven by a significant slowdown in construction activity both abroad (13.6% vs 41.2% in September) and domestically (2.5% vs 16.4%). Within domestic production, all components saw slower growth, including new construction (2.6% vs 15.9%), repairs and maintenance of buildings (5.8% vs 14.8%), and buildings (6.2% vs 16.2%). Engineering construction also recorded a decline (-4.5% vs 16.7%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output fell by 3.6% in October.
