Slovakia’s construction output rose 3.7% year-on-year in October 2025, slowing sharply from an over seven-year high of 19% in the previous month.
This marked the softest growth since May, driven by a significant slowdown in construction activity both abroad (13.6% vs 41.2% in September) and domestically (2.5% vs 16.4%).
Within domestic production, all components saw slower growth, including new construction (2.6% vs 15.9%), repairs and maintenance of buildings (5.8% vs 14.8%), and buildings (6.2% vs 16.2%).
Engineering construction also recorded a decline (-4.5% vs 16.7%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output fell by 3.6% in October.
