The annual inflation rate in Romania eased to 8.2% in July 2026 from 10.4% in June, remaining above market expectations of 7.9% but marking the lowest reading since July 2025.
Inflation for non-food goods posted the sharpest slowdown, easing to 7.9% from 12.3% in June, largely due to a steep moderation in electricity price growth (2.9% vs 35.2%).
