Portugal Industrial Activity Declines for 3rd Month

Portugal’s industrial production fell 1.4% year-on-year in July 2026, marking the third consecutive month of contraction, following a downwardly revised 1.1% decline in June.
Energy output declined further by 1.2% following a 1% decrease in the prior month, while production growth of intermediate goods eased to 0.5% from 1.6%.
Meanwhile, the decline in production of overall consumer goods eased slightly (-2.5% vs -2.7%), weighed down by a further decline in non-durable goods (-4.3% vs -2.9%) although durable goods rebounded strongly by 8.1% after a 1.3% drop.
On a monthly basis, industrial production edged down 0.3%, easing from a downwardly revised 4.2% drop in June.
