Poland Inflation Rate Steady in February

Poland’s annual inflation rate stood at 4.9% in February 2025, unchanged from the previous month’s downwardly revised figure but below market forecasts of 5.3%.
Prices accelerated mainly for food and non-alcoholic beverages(6.2% vs 5.5% in January), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.1% vs 4.3%), and recreation and culture (5% vs 4.2%).
Meanwhile, inflation slowed for communication (2.1% vs 2.8%), education (8.3% vs 8.4%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2.3% vs 3.2%).
Moreover, costs declined further for transport (-2.5% vs -0.4%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.3% in February, easing from a 1% increase in the preceding period.
