Norway Jobless Rate Climbs to 6-Month High

Norway’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 4.9% in February 2026 from 4.6% in the previous month, marking the highest level since August 2025.
The number of unemployed persons increased by 9 thousand month-on-month to 150 thousand.
Meanwhile, the employment rate rose to 70.0% from 69.1%, as the number of employed individuals grew by 38 thousand to 2.929 million.
The labor force participation rate also jumped to 73.6% from 72.5% in January.
At the same time, the youth unemployment rate, which measures job seekers aged 15 to 24, edged up to 14.6% from 14.2% in the prior month.
