Norway’s consumer confidence indicator rose to -3.6 in the third quarter of 2025 from a downwardly revised -9.1 in the previous quarter.

This marked the fourteenth consecutive period of negative sentiment but the softest reading in the sequence, as households regained confidence in their own finances in the past year (6.9 vs -7.4 in Q2) and became even more optimistic in the future (21.8 vs 11.2).

Additionally, consumers became less negative about the country’s economy in the past twelve months (-3.3 vs -21.2) and in the coming year (-28.3 vs -52).

Lastly, consumers found the time for making large purchases less unfavorable (-9.1 vs -19.8).

Norway Consumer Sentiment Worsens in Q2
Norway's consumer confidence indicator fell to -16.4 in the second quarter of 2025, from a downwardly revised -13.4 in the previous quarter. This marked the thirteenth consecutive quarter of negative sentiment and at the sharpest pace since the third quarter of 2024, as consumers turned pessimistic about the country's economy next year (-21.2 vs 5.1 in Q1), and became even more negative about the past year (-52 vs -35.2). In addition, households showed decreased confidence in their financial situation for the coming year (21.5 vs 15.7), while their perception of the timing for making large purchases became less unfavorable (-14.5 vs -33).
