Moldova Industrial Output Rises to 3-Month High

Industrial production in Moldova jumped 10.6% year-on-year in June 2026, accelerating from an upwardly revised 8.3% rise in the previous month.
This marked the strongest gain since March, driven by higher output in the manufacturing industry (10.2% vs 7.7% in May), with notable increases in food products (18.4% vs 15.5%), textiles (40.1% vs 24.9%), leather and related products (41.7% vs 30.8%), wood and wood products (24.6% vs 11.0%), basic metals (30.6% vs -41.9%), computer, electronic, and optical products (36.2% vs -16.3%), electrical equipment (7.9% vs 6.7%), machinery and equipment (45.3% vs 26.1%), and furniture (59.5% vs -4.3%).
Additionally, activity in the electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply sector increased at a faster pace (19.4% vs 11.0%).
Meanwhile, mining production slowed (10.3% vs 22.4%).
On a monthly basis, industrial output fell 0.9%, reversing a 1.9% rise in May.
In the first half of the year, industrial production grew 7.9%.
