Moldova Industrial Output at 5-Month High

Industrial production in Moldova surged by 11.6% year-on-year in October 2025, following a 9.0% increase in the previous month.

This marked the eighth consecutive month of growth and the strongest pace since May, as output increased at a faster pace in manufacturing (10.1% vs 8.8%), particularly in food products (28.7% vs 2.7%), wearing apparel (34.9% vs 19.8%), wood products (46.4% vs 20.7%), chemicals and chemical products (2.3% vs -3%), pharmaceutical products (12.8% vs -14.7%), and furniture (45.4% vs -2.8%).

Moreover, output soared in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (37% vs. 11.8%).

Meanwhile, production in mining and quarrying significantly declined (-20.7% vs 10.2%).

On a monthly basis, industrial output climbed by 18.6%, accelerating from an upwardly revised 7.9% in the preceding month.

Industrial production in Moldova rose by 11.6% year-on-year in November 2025, easing from an upwardly revised 12.1% increase in the previous month. This marked the ninth consecutive month of growth, albeit at a softer pace, as output declined sharply in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-9.8% vs 37% in October). On the other hand, production advanced in the manufacturing industry (19.4% vs 10.1%), particularly in food products (57.4% vs 32.8%), dairy products (5.5% vs -2.2%), animal feed preparations (47.7% vs 20.3%), and beverages (53% vs -25.4%) Output also fell softer in mining and quarrying (-2.4% vs -20.7%). On a monthly basis, industrial output increased by 8% in November, slowing from an upwardly revised 18.9% in the preceding month.

Industrial production in Moldova advanced by 9.0% year-on-year in September 2025, accelerating from a 3.3% rise in the previous month. This marked the seventh consecutive month of growth, as output increased faster in the manufacturing sector (8.8% vs 4.1% in August), particularly in computer, electronic, and optical products, fabricated metal products, other non-metallic mineral products, wood and wood products, and prepared animal feeds. At the same time output recovered significantly in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (11.8% vs -5.7%) and in mining and quarrying (10.2% vs -1.3%). On a monthly basis, industrial output climbed by 7.7%, rebounding sharply from a 4% drop in the preceding period.
