Macau Inflation Rate Eases in June

The annual inflation rate in Macau eased to 1.24% in June 2026 from an over two-year high of 1.43% in the previous month.
The slowdown was mainly driven by softer inflation in transport (3.71% vs 4.79%), miscellaneous goods and services (2.36% vs 3.56%), housing and fuels (0.39% vs 0.59%), and health (0.87% vs 0.89%).
Meanwhile, price growth accelerated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.31% vs 1.19%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.09% vs -0.46%), clothing and footwear (3.17% vs 2.91%), household furnishings and services (0.81% vs 0.76%), information and communication (1.17% vs 1.06%), and recreation, sport and culture (1.45% vs 1.24%), while education inflation remained unchanged (1.05% vs 1.05%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.15% in June, reversing a 0.17% increase in the previous month and marking the second monthly contraction of 2026, after March's decline.
