Macau’s annual inflation rate eased to 1.12% in July 2026, slowing for a second consecutive month and down from 1.24% in June.
The slowdown was mainly driven by softer price growth for food (1.22% vs 1.31%), transport (2.29% vs 3.71%), and housing and utilities (0.79% vs 0.81%).
Additional downward pressure came from clothing and footwear (2.61% vs 3.17%) and recreation, sport and culture (1.07% vs 1.45%).
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco also fell 1.28%, reversing a 0.09% increase in June.
In contrast, inflation accelerated for health (0.94% vs 0.87%), information and communication (1.44% vs 1.17%), and education (1.17% vs 1.05%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were largely unchanged, edging down 0.01% after a 0.15% decline in June.
