Luxembourg Inflation Rate Picks Up

The annual inflation rate in Luxembourg rose to 1.65% in April 2025, picking up from a three-month low of 1.32% in the previous month.
Main upward pressure came from food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.59% vs 0.85% in March), clothing and footwear (1.15% vs 0.78%), leisure and culture (2.99% vs 0.34%), and miscellaneous goods and services (1.48% vs 1.24%).
In addition, deflation eased for transports (-0.63% vs -0.68%) and furniture, household items and home maintenance (-0.45% vs -0.64%).
On the other hand, prices moderated for housing and utilities (4.81% vs 4.83%), hotels and restaurants (2.31% vs 2.59%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.15% vs 3.17%), while deflation worsened for communications (-2.34% vs -1.70%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.56% in April 2025, rebounding from a 0.16% fall in the previous month.
