Latvia Producer Prices Rise in March

Producer prices in Latvia rose by 0.8% year-on-year in March 2026, rebounding from a 0.8% drop in the previous month.

Costs increased for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (6.4% vs 6.3% in February).

At the same time, deflation eased sharply for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-0.5% vs -8.8%).

In contrast, prices decreased for manufacturing (0.2% vs 0.4%), weighed down by slower growth in the manufacture of wearing apparel (1.1% vs 1.5%), wood and wood products (0.1% vs 1.5%), printing and reproduction of recorded media (0.6% vs 5.2%), electrical equipment (0.3% vs 0.5%), and furniture (1.2% vs 1.5%), while costs also decreased for mining and quarrying (16.2% vs 17.6%).

On a monthly basis, producer prices declined by 1.2% in March, reversing a 0.4% gain in the preceding period.

Producer prices in Latvia fell by 0.8% year-on-year in February 2026, following an upwardly revised 2.1% rise in the previous month. This marked the lowest reading since June 2025, as prices remained unchanged in manufacturing (0.4.%), weighed down by slower growth in the manufacture of beverages (3.1% vs 3.2%), basic metals (4.7% vs 6.4%), electrical equipment (0.5% vs 1.3%), and furniture (1.5% vs 1.8%). At the same time, costs declined sharply in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-8.8% vs 6.1%). Conversely, prices increased in mining and quarrying (17.6% vs 17.4%) and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (6.3% vs 5.1%). On a monthly basis, producer prices grew by 0.4% in February, easing from an upwardly revised 1.5% gain in the preceding period.

Latvia Producer Prices Rise in January
Producer prices in Latvia rose by 1.2% year-on-year in January 2026 from a downwardly revised 0.7% growth in the previous month. Output increased in mining and quarrying (17.4% vs 17% in December 2025). In addition, activity recovered for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (1% vs -3.3%). Meanwhile, output growth slowed in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (5.2% vs 5.4%) and manufacturing (0.5% vs 0.9%), with notable decreases in food products (-0.7% vs 0.3%), beverages (3.2% vs 6.1%), paper and paper products (0.3% vs 2.6%), and chemical and chemical products (1.1% vs 1.8%). On a monthly basis, producer prices increased by 0.6% in January, rebounding from an upwardly revised 1.1% decline in the preceding period.
