The unemployment rate in Ireland jumped to 4.9% in July of 2025 from the upwardly revised 4.6% in the previous month on a seasonally adjusted basis, marking the highest jobless rate since March of 2022.
The number of unemployed individuals rose by 8,600 from the previous month to 143,100, the highest level since July of 2021, to reflect a sudden softening in the Irish labor market.
Meanwhile, the jobless for those aged younger than 25 years rose sharply to 12.2% from 11.3% in the earlier month, the highest since November of 2021.
