The annual inflation rate in Ireland eased to 1.7% in July 2025 from 1.8% in the previous month.

The slowdown was mainly driven by deeper price declines in transport (-2.8% vs -2.0%) and clothing & footwear (-2.4% vs -2.3%), alongside a slower price increase in recreation and culture (2.3% vs 3.5%).

In contrast, price growth accelerated in restaurants and hotels (2.7% vs 2.4%), housing and utilities (2.4% vs 1.9%), and food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.7% vs 4.6%).

Meanwhile, core inflation — which excludes energy and unprocessed food — eased to 1.8% in June from 2.0% a month earlier, marking a five-year low.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.1%, easing from a 0.5% increase in June.
