Motorbike sales in Indonesia jumped 14.5% year-on-year to 461,925 units in December 2025, accelerating sharply from a 2.1% increase in November, partly supported by government measures to boost domestic demand.
This marked the fifth consecutive month of annual growth, following a cumulative 150 bps interest rate cut by the central bank since September 2024.
For the full year of 2025, motorbike sales rose 1.3% from 2024 to 6.4 million units, within the Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industry (AISI) target range of 6.4 to 6.7 million units.
In 2024, annual motorbike sales grew 1.5% to 6.3 million units, within the forecast range of 6.2 to 6.5 million units set by AISI.
On a month-on-month basis, however, sales fell 11.7% in December, following an 11.3% decline in November.
