Motorbike sales in Indonesia fell 2.0% year-on-year to 587,048 units in July 2025, following a 0.3% drop in June.

This marked the third consecutive monthly decline, as weak purchasing power—partly due to layoffs at some companies—continued to weigh on consumer demand.

Meanwhile, motorbike sales shrank 2.1% in the first seven months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

On a monthly basis, however, motorbike sales rose 15.3% in July, accelerating from a 0.8% increase in June.

In 2024, annual motorbike sales grew 1.5%, reaching 6.3 million units, which was within the forecast range of 6.2 to 6.5 million units set by the Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industry (AISI).

For 2025, AISI expects motorbike sales to reach a target range of 6.4 to 6.7 million units.

However, the association noted last month that it may consider revising its annual target if sales pressures persist.
