Denmark’s unemployment rate rose to 2.6% in January 2026, remaining unchanged over the past four months.
The number of unemployed increased slightly by 0.2 thousand to 78.5 thousand, while unemployment rates remained unchanged for both men (2.9%) and women (3%).
Net unemployment benefits rose by 0.1 thousand to 68.8 thousand, and cash assistance recipients also grew by 0.1 thousand to 9.7 thousand, mainly due to a higher influx of Ukrainians with residence permits who are considered job-ready.
Meanwhile, youth unemployment, covering job seekers aged 16 to 24, remained at 1.5%, as did the rate for those aged 25 to 29 at 4.8%.
For individuals aged 60–66, the number of unemployed rose by 0.1 thousand to 3.1 thousand, while rates for other age groups remained unchanged.
