Danish Jobless Rate Steady at 2.6% in October

Denmark’s unemployment rate held at 2.6% in October 2025, unchanged from the previous month and remaining at its highest level since November 2024.

The number of unemployed individuals rose by 0.2 thousand from a month earlier to 77.7 thousand.

Net unemployment benefit recipients increased by 0.1 thousand to 69.0 thousand, while cash assistance recipients grew by 0.2 thousand to 8.9 thousand.

Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, representing job-seekers aged 14 to 24, ticked up to 1.2% from 1.1% in September.

Denmark’s unemployment rate held steady at 2.6% in December 2025, unchanged from the previous three months and remaining at its highest level since November 2024. The number of unemployed individuals increased by 0.3 thousand from a month earlier to 78.7 thousand, with the unemployment rate for men edging up to 2.9% from 2.8%, while the rate for women stood at 3%. Net unemployment benefit recipients rose by 0.1 thousand to 69 thousand, while cash assistance recipients grew by 0.2 thousand to 9.7 thousand, mainly due to an increased influx of Ukrainians with residence permits who are considered job-ready. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, representing job-seekers aged 16 to 24, increased by 0.2 percentage points to 1.5% and by 0.1 percentage points to 4.9% for those aged 25 to 29, while it remained unchanged for other aged groups.

Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, representing job-seekers aged 16 to 24, edged up by 0.1 percentage points to 1.3%, while it decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 4.8% for those aged 25-29 and remained unchanged for the other age groups.
