Retail sales in Denmark rose by 2.5% year-on-year in August 2025, slightly easing from a downwardly revised 2.6% increase in the previous month.
The slowdown was mainly driven by a continued decline in sales of food and other groceries (-0.6% vs -1.2% in July).
Additionally, trade growth moderated for other consumer goods (4.9% vs 5.8%).
On the other hand, activity advanced at a faster pace for clothing (4% vs 2.2%).
On a monthly basis, retail sales went up by 0.3% in August, slowing from a 0.5% increase in the preceding period.
