Denmark Trade Surplus Widens in July

Denmark’s seasonally adjusted trade surplus widened to DKK 40.5 billion in July 2026, from a downwardly revised DKK 25.3 billion in June, marking the largest surplus in the current series.

Total exports rose 4.0% month-on-month to DKK 202.7 billion, with goods exports increasing 4.5% to DKK 118.9 billion and services exports rising 3.3% to DKK 83.8 billion.

Meanwhile, imports fell 4.4% to DKK 162.2 billion, driven by a 6.9% decline in goods imports, while services imports decreased 1.4%.

In the first seven months of 2026, total exports reached DKK 1,313.0 billion, up from DKK 1,236.5 billion a year earlier, while imports rose to DKK 1,113.2 billion from DKK 1,045.8 billion with Denmark recorded a trade surplus of DKK 199.8 billion, up from DKK 190.7 billion in the same period of 2025.

Denmark’s seasonally adjusted trade surplus widened to DKK 28.7 billion in June 2026, from a downwardly revised DKK 25.8 billion in the previous month, highest in three months. Exports increased 0.9% month-over-month to DKK 193.5 billion, driven by a 1.7% rise in services exports to DKK 81.0 billion and a 0.4% increase in goods exports to DKK 112.5 billion. Meanwhile, imports fell 0.7% to DKK 164.8 billion, as a 0.5% decline in goods imports and a 0.8%. In the second quarter, total exports increased by 5.7%, while imports increased by 6.9%. In the first half of 2026, Denmark recorded a trade surplus of DKK 163.2 billion, rising from DKK 154.4 billion in the same period of 2025.

Denmark Trade Surplus Narrows in May
Denmark’s seasonally adjusted trade surplus narrowed to DKK 28.9 billion in May 2026 from a downwardly revised DKK 29.2 billion in April. Exports ticked up to 1.3% month-over-month to DKK 189.3 billion, as a 5.8% increase in services exports more than offset a 1.6% decline in goods exports. Imports climbed 1.8% to DKK 160.4 billion, driven by a 5.7% rise in goods imports despite a 2.5% decrease in services imports. For the January-May of 2026, Denmark recorded a trade surplus of DKK 144.4 billion, up from DKK 124.4 billion over the same period in the previous year.
