Danish Trade Surplus Largest in 9 Months

Denmark’s seasonally adjusted goods and services trade surplus widened to DKK 30.6 billion in July 2025 from an upwardly revised DKK 24.4 billion in June.

It was the largest trade surplus since October 2024, as exports rose while imports fell.

Exports grew 3.3% month-on-month to a seven-month high of DKK 180.7 billion, supported by increases in both goods exports (2.2%) and services exports (4.9%).

Meanwhile, imports declined by 0.3% to DKK 150.1 billion, weighed down by a decrease in goods imports (-1.7%).

For the first seven months of the year, Denmark recorded a trade surplus of DKK 166.9 billion, up from DKK 160.2 billion in the same period of 2024.

Denmark’s seasonally adjusted trade surplus narrowed to DKK 31.2 billion in January 2026 from a downwardly revised DKK 35.2 billion in the previous month. Exports fell 5.9% month-on-month to DKK 176.8 billion, due to declines in both goods (-6.5%) and services (-5.0%) exports. Imports dropped 4.7% to DKK 145.6 billion, reflecting lower imports of goods (-2.9%) and services (-6.7%). Over the past three months, total exports rose 0.9%, while imports decreased 0.5%.

Danish Trade Surplus Widens in December
Denmark’s seasonally adjusted trade surplus widened to DKK 35.3 billion in December 2025 from an upwardly revised DKK 31.6 billion in November. Exports rose 3.3% month-on-month to DKK 188.4 billion, driven by a 2.8% rise in goods exports and a 4% jump in services exports. Imports also increased by 1.5% to DKK 153.1 billion, supported by a 0.8% gain in goods imports and 2.3% rise in services imports. For full-year 2025, exports of goods and services increased by 3.4% to DKK 2,149 billion, while imports increased by 1.5% to DKK 1,805 billion. Denmark posted a full-year trade surplus of DKK 344.5 billion, up from DKK 299.7 billion in 2024.

Denmark’s seasonally adjusted trade surplus widened to DKK 28.8 billion in November 2025, from a downwardly revised DKK 27.6 billion in October. Exports grew 0.7% month-over-month to DKK 179.9 billion, led by a 2.8% rise in goods exports that more than offset a 2.4% decline in services exports. On the other hand, imports stalled at DKK 151.1 billion, with goods imports flat and services imports falling 0.1%. For the first eleven months of the year, Denmark posted a trade surplus of DKK 302.7 billion, up from DKK 292 billion over the same period in 2024.
