Czech Republic Current Account Deficit Widens in June

The Czech Republic’s current account deficit widened to CZK 68.79 billion in June 2025 from CZK 24.82 billion in the corresponding month last year, way below the market forecasts of CZK 22.95 billion shortfall.
This marked the largest deficit since September 2022, as surplus narrowed for both goods and services accounts.
Goods surplus decreased to CZK 42.40 billion from CZK 45.10 billion and services surplus fell to CZK 8.96 billion from CZK 13.13 billion.
Meanwhile, the primary income gap narrowed to CZK 30.66 billion from CZK 36.28 billion, while the secondary income shortfall decreased to CZK 1.09 billion from CZK 5.58.
