Croatia Industrial Output Rebounds in February

Industrial production in Croatia rose by 1.2% year-on-year in February 2026, rebounding from a 0.8% decline in the previous month.

Production increased for capital goods (7% vs -4.2% in January), intermediate goods (2.8% vs 0.4%), and consumer non-durables (2.1% vs -1.1%), while it declined for consumer durables (-9.3% vs -2.9%) and energy (-4.3% vs 5.6%).

According to divisions, output in the manufacturing sector recovered, up 1.3% after a 0.8% drop in January, primarily driven by sharply higher production of transport equipment (99.2% vs -3.6%), tobacco products (90.8% vs -34.9%), electrical equipment (26% vs 17.3%), and chemicals products (24.3% vs 95.6%).

At the same time, activity decreased at a softer pace in mining and quarrying (-4.2% vs -13.7%), while output continued to increase for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (7.1% vs 11.1%).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity fell by 0.8% in February, following a 2.4% drop in the preceding period.

Croatia Industrial Output Falls for 1st Time in 6 Months
Croatia’s industrial production decreased by 0.8% year-on-year in January 2026, reversing a 4.5% growth in the previous month. This was the first decline since July 2025, amid lower output in the mining and quarrying sector (-13.7% vs 0% in December) and in manufacturing (-0.8% vs 6.4%). Within manufacturing, the sharpest declines were recorded in the production of computers, electronic and optical products (-31.4% vs -28.2%), tobacco products (-34.9% vs -33.7%), and leather and related products (-28.3% vs -9.0%). Conversely, output in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply rebounded (11.1% vs -6.0%). On a monthly basis, industrial production fell by 2.3% in January, after rising by 1.2% in December.

Croatia Industrial Output Eases in December
Croatia’s industrial production rose by 4.5% year-on-year in December 2025, easing from a downwardly revised 8.7% climb in the previous month. This marked the third consecutive month of growth in industrial activity, albeit at a softer pace, as output moderated in the manufacturing industry (6.4% vs 10.6% in November), particularly in food products (1.2% vs 4.1%), beverages (19% vs 49.5%), textiles (-0.2% vs 5.9%), and leather and related products (-9% vs 5.7%). At the same time, mining and quarrying recorded a flat reading after a sharp 5.1% decline a month earlier. Meanwhile, output declined further for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-6% vs -0.3%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity grew by 1.2%, following a downwardly revised 0.6% rise in the preceding period. Considering the whole year, industrial output grew by 3.8% compared to the same period last year.
