Croatia Industrial Output Declines in April

Croatia’s industrial production dropped by 2.1% year-on-year in April 2026, reversing a 0.8% increase in the previous month.

This was the sharpest fall since November 2024 due to lower output in manufacturing (-1.5% vs 1.8% in March), mining and quarrying (-0.7% vs 3.3%), and electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply (-11.3% vs -6.2%).

Within the manufacturing sector, notable declines were recorded in other transport equipment (-28.3% vs 27.2%), textiles (-16.0% vs 3.0%), wearing apparel (-14.3% vs 3.7%), leather and related products (-16.2% vs 6.4%), and other non-metallic mineral products (-14.9% vs 7.4%).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production decreased by 0.6%, following a revised 1.1% decline in March.

In the January-April period, output was 0.2% lower compared to the same period last year.

Croatia Industrial Output Eases in March
Croatia’s industrial production rose by 0.8% year-on-year in March 2026, easing from a 1.2% increase in the previous month. Electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply fell 6.2%, reversing sharply from a 7.2% surge in the previous month. Meanwhile, manufacturing output increased at a faster pace (1.9% vs 1.3% in February), led by machinery and equipment n.e.c. (3.8%), textiles (3.8%), leather and related products (6.3%), basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (26.7%), rubber and plastic products (6.0%), and other non-metallic mineral products (7.6%). At the same time, mining and quarrying rebounded, rising 3.4% after a 4.1% decline in February. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell 1.7%, following a 0.8% decline in the previous month. Over the January–March period, output rose 0.4% compared with the same period last year.

Croatia Industrial Output Rebounds in February
Industrial production in Croatia rose by 1.2% year-on-year in February 2026, rebounding from a 0.8% decline in the previous month. Production increased for capital goods (7% vs -4.2% in January), intermediate goods (2.8% vs 0.4%), and consumer non-durables (2.1% vs -1.1%), while it declined for consumer durables (-9.3% vs -2.9%) and energy (-4.3% vs 5.6%). According to divisions, output in the manufacturing sector recovered, up 1.3% after a 0.8% drop in January, primarily driven by sharply higher production of transport equipment (99.2% vs -3.6%), tobacco products (90.8% vs -34.9%), electrical equipment (26% vs 17.3%), and chemicals products (24.3% vs 95.6%). At the same time, activity decreased at a softer pace in mining and quarrying (-4.2% vs -13.7%), while output continued to increase for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (7.1% vs 11.1%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity fell by 0.8% in February, following a 2.4% drop in the preceding period.
