It is the fourth straight decline in industrial activity, as output slumped for capital goods (-18.7 percent vs -9.5 percent in September), consumer durable goods (-9.5 percent vs -10.4 percent) and consumer non-durable goods (-1.5 percent vs -1.9 percent). On the other hand, production grew faster for intermediate goods (4. 6 percent vs 2.1 percent) and rebounded for energy (3.3 percent vs -0.7 percent). Considering the January to September period of 2018, industrial production shrank 0.5 percent over a year ago. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 1.3 percent, recovering from a 1.5 percent decrease in the previous month.
