The Davivienda Colombia Manufacturing PMI fell to 52.0 in September 2025 from 55.3 in August, marking a softer expansion after a three-year high but still rounding off the best quarter for the sector since Q2 2022.
Growth in output, purchasing, and employment eased as new business inflows rose at the weakest pace since April, reflecting competitive pressures and pricing challenges.
Sales were supported by advertising and new client acquisition, but momentum slowed.
Factory production expanded at a solid yet weaker rate, while inventories declined due to planned maintenance, reduced working hours, and order fulfilment.
Employment rose for the month, though at a slower pace, as backlogs fell for the first time in five months.
Cost pressures receded for a third straight month, with inflation at its lowest since April 2024 as cheaper metals, polyethylene, and resin offset higher prices for chemicals and food.
