Colombia Inflation Rate Hits Lowest Level Since 2021

The annual inflation rate in Colombia eased 5.09% in March 2025, down from a four-month high of 5.28% in February and below market forecasts of 5.15%.
It pointed to the lowest reading since October 2021 as costs rose more slowly for transportation (+4.88% vs. +5.64% in February), housing (+6.29% vs. +6.58%), restaurants and hotels (+7.34% vs. +7.73%), health (+5.3% vs. +5.42%), and education (+7.27% vs. +7.38%).
However, food prices increased faster (+4.67% vs. +4.56%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.52%, slowing from February’s 1.14%, which was the sharpest rise since February 2023, and almost in line with the forecast of 0.58%.
