Bulgaria Construction Output Hits 13-Month Low

Construction output in Bulgaria increased by 3.1% year-on-year in October 2025, slowing from a downwardly revised 7.5% rise in the previous month and marking the lowest level since September 2024.

Growth moderated across all categories, namely civil engineering (4.9% vs 10.2% in September), construction of buildings (2.8% vs 8.7%), and specialized construction activities (2.1% vs 4.1%).

On a seasonally adjusted basis, construction output fell by 1.1%, slipping further from a revised 0.8% fall in the prior month.

Construction output in Bulgaria rose 0.6% year-on-year in December 2025, slowing from a downwardly revised 3% increase in the previous month. This marked the weakest growth since February 2024, as activity expanded at a softer pace in civil engineering works (3.5% vs 8% in November), while specialized construction activities contracted sharply (-3.9% vs -0.4%). In contrast, building construction grew slightly faster (2.6% vs 2.5%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output fell 2.3%, reversing a 0.8% rise in November. The decline was driven by lower output in specialized construction activities (-3.9%), civil engineering works (-2.9%), and building construction (-0.4%).

Construction output in Bulgaria rose by 3.5% year-on-year in November 2025, following an upwardly revised 3.2% increase in the previous month, which had marked the softest growth since September 2024. Building construction (3.8% vs 3.1% in October) and civil engineering works (7.4% vs 5%) picked up, while specialized construction activities slowed further (0.1% vs 1.9%). On a seasonally adjusted basis, construction output grew by 1.4% in November, rebounding from a 1% drop in October.
