Argentina Retail Sales Rise in June

Argentina’s retail sales at current prices rose 13.4% year on year to ARS 685.4 billion in June 2026.

Sales in clothing, footwear and leather goods totaled ARS 231.0 billion, followed by sporting goods and clothing (ARS 116.6 billion) and food courts, food stores and kiosks (ARS 116.4 billion).

Electronics, home appliances and computers generated ARS 65.3 billion, while sales in furniture, home decoration and household textiles reached ARS 35.8 billion.

By region, sales in the City of Buenos Aires increased 18.5% year on year to ARS 193.6 billion, while those in the 24 districts of Greater Buenos Aires rose 8.3% to ARS 224.1 billion.

Sales in the Pampeana Region increased 13.2% to ARS 145.8 billion, while Cuyo rose 18.3% to ARS 49.1 billion.

The Northern Region and Patagonia recorded gains of 11.0% and 17.2%, respectively.

Argentina Retail Sales Jump in May
Argentina's retail sales rose 33.1% year-on-year to ARS 670.2 billion in May 2026, up from 11.9% in April and marking a one-year high. The strongest growth was recorded in furniture, home decoration and household textiles (58.3%), followed by perfumery and pharmacies (46.9%), sporting goods (46.0%), and food courts, food stores and kiosks (40.3%). Sales also increased for toys (33.9%), bookstores and stationery (33.9%), clothing, footwear and leather goods (30.5%), and entertainment (20.5%). In contrast, electronics, home appliances and computers posted the weakest growth, rising 9.1% from a year earlier. By region, retail sales in the City of Buenos Aires increased 37.7%. In the 24 districts of Greater Buenos Aires, sales were up 33.1% Meanwhile, sales in the Pampeana Region grew 28.4%. Sales in the Cuyo Region rose 29.8%. Finally, the Northern Region and Patagonia rose 29.5% and 34.9%, respectively.

Argentina Retail Sales Rise In April
Argentina’s retail sales rose 12.6% year-on-year in April 2026 to ARS 560.96 billion. By category, sportswear and accessories posted the strongest gain, rising 25.5%. Food courts, food products, and kiosks increased 22.3%, while stationery and bookstores rose 27.9%. Entertainment and leisure advanced 26.5%, and perfumes and pharmacies recorded one of the strongest gains at 31.9%. Clothing, footwear, and leather goods rose a more modest 5.3%. In contrast, electronics, appliances, and computing sales fell 10.9%. By region, sales in Buenos Aires rose 20.9%, while the 24 districts of Greater Buenos Aires posted a 6.5% increase. The Pampas region recorded a 12.7% gain, while the Cuyo region rose 17.6%. Meanwhile, the Northern and Patagonia regions posted increases of 3.3% and 10.3%, respectively.
