Argentina Consumer Confidence Improves in September

Argentina’s Consumer Confidence Index (ICC) rose 2.37% month over month to 41.8 points in September 2026, following a 1.08% decline in August.

Future Expectations increased 3.80%, while Current Conditions rose 0.33%.

By subindex, Personal Situation increased 11.33% in September, while the other components declined.

The largest decrease was recorded in Durable Goods and Real Estate (-3.42%), followed by Macroeconomic Situation (-0.75%).

By region, the ICC increased in Greater Buenos Aires and the rest of the country, while declining in the City of Buenos Aires.

The largest increase was recorded in the Interior (+5.23%), followed by GBA (+3.33%), while CABA posted a 6.78% decline.

By income level, results were mixed: low-income households recorded a 12.33% increase, while high-income households posted a 4.07% decline.

Year-on-year, the index rose 3.44%.

Argentina Consumer Confidence Declines in August
Argentina’s Consumer Confidence Index fell 1.08% month-over-month to 40.23 points in August 2026, following a 4.8% decline in July. By sub-index, Macroeconomic Conditions increased 3.06%, while all other components declined. The largest decrease was recorded in Durable Goods and Real Estate (-4.03%), followed by Personal Situation (-3.31%). By region, the ICC increased in CABA and Greater Buenos Aires, while declining in the Interior. GBA posted the largest increase (0.41%), followed by CABA (0.11%), while the Interior declined 3.79%. The Interior continued to record the highest index level at 43.82 points, while GBA had the lowest at 38.27 points. By income level, results were mixed, with low-income households recording a 2.13% increase and high-income households posting a 1.76% decline. High-income households continued to have a higher index at 42.68 points, compared with 36.76 points for low-income households.

Argentina Consumer Sentiment Deteriorates in July
Argentina's consumer confidence index fell 4.8% month-over-month to 40.67 points in July 2026, with all sub-indexes remaining in negative territory as sentiment weakened. Sentiment over current conditions edged down 1.2% to 34.2, reflecting an 8.5% drop in assessments of the country's economic situation to 46.7 and a 3.9% decline in views of personal finances to 39.98. Confidence over current purchases of durable goods and real estate eased 0.5% to 35.33. Sentiment deteriorated more sharply among lower-income households (-11.5%) than higher-income households (-1.5%), although the latter reported a 3.5% increase in sentiment toward durable goods and real estate purchases. Regionally, Greater Buenos Aires (-6.35%) and the City of Buenos Aires (-6.24%) posted the steepest declines, while the rest of the country recorded the highest confidence level at 45.55. Meanwhile, expectations regarding future conditions fell 7.2% to 47.14, remaining 11.4% below last years projections.
