The Swiss procure.ch and UBS Manufacturing PMI rose to 48.2 in October 2025 from 46.3 in September, better than market expectations of 47.5.
Despite this improvement, the index remained in negative territory for the 34th consecutive month, as protectionist policies, particularly from the US, continue to weigh on the sector.
Nevertheless, the overall trend has been upward since the trough in July 2023.
The increases was broad-based across most sub-indices, with order books climbing 6.8 points to 47.3, purchasing volume rising 4.4 points to 46.2, stock purchases increasing 0.2 points to 45.4, sales stocks up 1.7 points to 45.9, employment rising 3 points to 47.2, and purchasing prices adding 2.2 points to 53.
Meanwhile, production declined 0.3 points to 49.1, and delivery times fell 4.3 points to 51.9.
