Swiss Forex Reserves Up for 1st Time in Four Months

The Swiss National Bank's foreign exchange reserves rose to CHF 715.581 billion in September 2024, the most since May, following an upwardly revised CHF 693.921 billion in August.
This marked the first increase in foreign exchange reserves held by the central bank after four consecutive months of decline.
Increases were seen in gold holdings (CHF 74.431 billion vs. CHF 71.472 billion in August), SDRs (CHF 10.738 billion vs. CHF 10.717 billion) and in the IMF reserve position (CHF 1.659 billion vs. CHF 1.649 billion), while other reserve assets decreased (CHF -175 billion vs. CHF 67 billion).
