Switzerland’s consumer confidence came at -35 in March 2025, up from -38 in the same period a year earlier, but was below market expectations of -32.
The reduced pessimism reflected less negative assessments of the past financial situation (-42 vs -58 in March 2024), the financial outlook (-28 vs -35), and the suitability of making major purchases (-26 vs -36).
Meanwhile, sentiment regarding the overall economic outlook deteriorated sharply, dropping to -44 from -23.
