Slovenia Producer Inflation Hits Highest Since 2023

Slovenia’s producer prices increased by 2.1% year-on-year in May 2026, following a 1.4% rise in the previous month.

This marked the highest reading since August 2023, driven by increases in prices for manufacturing (2.2% vs 1.5% in April), mining and quarrying (12.7% vs 10.1%), and electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (0.1% vs -0.3%).

By main industrial group, costs rose for intermediate goods (2.3% vs 1.8%), capital goods (2.0% vs 1.1%), and consumer goods (1.9% vs 1.4%), and rebounded for energy (2.3% vs -0.8%).

On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.7%, following a 0.5% increase in April.

Slovenia’s producer prices rose by 1.4% year-on-year in April 2026, accelerating from a 0.6% increase in the previous month. Costs increased in manufacturing (1.5% vs 1.1% in March), while the decline in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply eased (-0.3% vs -3.4%). By main industrial group, price growth strengthened in intermediate goods (1.8% vs 1.1%), while energy deflation moderated (-0.8% vs -2.8%). Prices also returned to growth in capital goods (1.1% vs -0.1%), while consumer goods inflation eased to 1.4% from 2%. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.5% in April, up from 0.2% in the preceding period.

Slovenia’s producer prices rose by 0.9% year-on-year in March 2026, easing from a 1.5% increase in the previous month. This marked the lowest reading since September last year, largely driven by lower costs for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-3.4% vs 7.8% in February) and water supply (-3.9% vs -3.5%). At the same time, producer inflation slightly eased for manufacturing (1.1% vs 1.2%). Conversely, prices increased further for mining and quarrying (10.2% vs 9.6%). According to main industrial groups, costs declined mainly for energy (-2.8% vs 6%) and capital goods (-0.1% vs 0.6%), while it increased for consumer goods (2% vs 1.3%), particularly for durable consumer goods (5.1% vs 0.3%). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up by 0.2% in March, after a flat reading in the preceding period.
