Slovenia Inflation Rate Eases to 5-Month Low

Slovenia's annual inflation rate eased to 2.3% in November 2025, easing from a nineteen-month high of 3.1% in the previous month.

It marked the lowest reading since June, as prices moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (5% vs 6.8% in October), housing and utilities (4% vs 4.2%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.5% vs 3.7%), health (5.1% vs 5.5%), recreation and culture (0.5% vs 1.3%), education (4.2% vs 4.3%), and restaurants and hotels (4.1% vs 4.7%).

Moreover, prices declined for transport (-0.4% vs 0.7%).

In contrast, prices increased at a faster pace for miscellaneous goods and services (0.9% vs 0.4%), while costs rebounded for clothing and footwear (-0.1% vs 0.2%) and communications (1% vs -0.1%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices stalled in November, the same as the previous month.

Slovenia Inflation Eases Slightly in January
The annual inflation rate in Slovenia edged down to 2.6% in January 2026 from 2.7% in the previous month. Prices increase at a softer pace mainly for food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.2% vs 4.5% in December), education (3.9% vs 4.2%), restaurants and hotels (2.3% vs 4%), and miscellaneous goods and services (1.3% vs 2.6%). At the same time, costs continued to decline for transport (-2% vs -0.7%). In contrast, inflation increased further for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.5% vs 4.3%), clothing and footwear (2.6% vs 1.1%), and housing and utilities (4.6% vs 4.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.5% in January, after showing no growth in the preceding period. The harmonized CPI rose by 2.4% year-on-year, following a 2.6% gain in December. On average, Slovenia’s inflation rate for 2025 stood at 2.4%.

Slovenia Inflation Picks Up to 2.7% in December
Slovenia’s annual inflation rate picked up to 2.7% in December 2025 from a five-month low of 2.3% in November. Main upward pressure came from higher inflation for housing and utilities (4.3% vs 4% in November), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.8% vs 0%), and clothing and footwear (1.1% vs 0.2%). Inflation also rose for recreation and culture (2.1% vs 0.5%) and miscellaneous goods and services (2.6% vs 0.9%). Meanwhile, price growth eased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.5% vs 5%), while transport costs continued to decline (-0.7% vs -0.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices were unchanged, the same as in the previous month. The harmonized CPI rose 2.6% year-on-year, following a 2.4% gain in November. On average, Slovenia’s inflation rate for 2025 stood at 2.4%.
