Slovenia GDP Grows at Fastest Pace Since 2022

Slovenia’s gross domestic product increased at an annual rate of 3.0% in the first quarter of 2026, following a 2.0% rise in the previous quarter.
This marked the strongest economic growth since the second quarter of 2022, driven by increases in government spending (3.9% vs 3.8% in Q4) and gross fixed capital formation (12.6% vs 12.0%).
Meanwhile, household consumption rose at a slower pace (2.7% vs 3.0%).
Net trade also contributed negatively, as imports rose by 1.5%, outpacing the 0.7% increase in exports.
On the production side, activity increased further in information and communication (6.2% vs 2.9%), professional, scientific, technical, administrative and support services (4.1% vs 3.3%), and public administration, education, human health, and social work (2.5% vs 1.7%), while financial and insurance activities rebounded (6.6% vs -0.1%).
On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, GDP rose by 0.7%, following a 0.4% increase in the previous period.
