Slovakia’s construction output fell by 2.7% year-on-year in April 2025, reversing a 6.8% increase in the previous month.

This marked the first contraction since October 2024, mainly driven by a drop in domestic production (-5% vs 3.4% in March), namely repair and maintenance (-7.7% vs -0.4%), new construction (-5.5% vs 5.6%), building construction (-5.3% vs -0.6%), and engineering works (-4.3% vs 15.3%).

At the same time, construction output growth abroad slowed to 14.2% from 36.2% in the prior month.
