Serbia Current Account Deficit Narrows in March

Serbia’s current account deficit narrowed to $411 million in March 2026 from a revised $548 million in the corresponding month a year earlier. The goods account gap shrank to $642 million from $753 million in March 2025, while the services account surplus widened to $240 million from $136 million. The secondary income surplus also increased to $707 million from $414 million. In contrast, the primary income deficit widened sharply to $715 million from $345 million. In the first three months of 2026, Serbia posted a current account deficit of $209 million, narrowing from $690 million in the corresponding period last year.

Serbia’s current account deficit widened to $645 million in November 2025 from a downwardly revised $230 million in the same month last year. The goods account deficit increased to $712 million from $524 million, while the services surplus narrowed to $244 million from $305 million. At the same time, the primary income gap rose sharply to $605 million from $470 million, and the secondary income surplus edged down to $429 million from $459 million. Over the first eleven months of 2025, Serbia posted a current account deficit of $3,921 million, compared with $3,340 million recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Serbia’s current account deficit narrowed to $186 million in October 2025, from a downwardly revised $271 million in the same month last year. The goods account deficit fell slightly to $616 million from $620 million. Additionally, the primary income gap decreased to $394 million from $443 million, and the secondary income surplus rose to $501 million from $462 million. Meanwhile, the services surplus edged down to $323 million from $330 million. For the first ten months of 2025, Serbia posted a current account deficit of $3,234 million, wider than the $3,110 million recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.
