Russian GDP Expands 1.4% in Q1

Russia’s gross domestic product grew by 1.4% in Q1 2025, a significant slowdown from 5.4% growth in the same quarter last year, according to preliminary data.
This represents the slowest pace of growth since the economy resumed expansion in Q2 2023.
Earlier, the economy ministry had projected a slightly higher growth rate of 1.7% for the quarter.
Looking ahead, the economy ministry projects annual growth of 2.5% for 2025, while the central bank offers a more cautious outlook, predicting growth between 1% and 2%.
