Romanian Jobless Rate Edges Down to 6.3%

Romania’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate eased to 6.3% from an upwardly revised 6.5% in the previous month.
The number of unemployed persons decreased by 21.7 thousand month-on-month, while it increased by 10.2 thousand year-on-year, reaching 512.1 thousand.
By gender, the unemployment rate for men stood at 6.2%, while it edged down for women to 6.3% from 6.9% in the previous month.
Among individuals aged 25-74, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate eased to 4.9% from 5.1%, with 4.8% for men and 5.0% for women, accounting for 73.3% of total unemployed in April.
Meanwhile, the rate of unemployment in April 2025 was 6.1%, lower than the latest reading.
