Romania’s current account posted a deficit of EUR 2,622 million in December 2025, narrowing from EUR 2,793 million in the same month of the previous year.

Additionally, the goods account shortfall declined to EUR 2,705 million from EUR 3,328 million.
On the other hand, the primary income deficit rose to EUR 887 million from EUR 440 million, while the secondary income surplus contracted to EUR 87 million from EUR 221 million.
For the full year of 2025, the country’s current account deficit reached EUR 30,127 million, higher than EUR 28,853 million in 2024.
